Get ready for an unforgettable 3-days East Java adventure exploring three iconic destinations: Madakaripura Waterfall, Mount Bromo, and Ijen Crater with its famous blue fire phenomenon. This journey combines natural wonders, scenic landscapes, and thrilling volcanic experiences.
Day 1: Surabaya or Malang – Madakaripura – Hotel in Bromo Area
Our friendly and experienced driver will pick you up at 09:00 AM – 12:00 PM from your location in Surabaya or Malang (hotel, airport, or train station). Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Madakaripura Waterfall, one of the most stunning waterfalls in East Java, located in the deep green canyon of the Tengger mountains. After a short trek through a forest trail and wading through shallow streams, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the towering waterfall that cascades down from a height of over 200 meters. It’s said to be the meditation place of Gajah Mada, a legendary military commander from the Majapahit Empire. Afterward, continue the journey to your hotel near the Bromo area. Upon arrival, you can rest or take a walk around the nearby local village and enjoy the peaceful mountainous surroundings.
Day 2: Bromo Sunrise – Transfer to Hotel in Bondowoso Area
Around 02:00 AM, your Bromo adventure begins with a 4WD Jeep ride to the sunrise viewpoint — the most iconic spot to witness the beautiful sunrise over Bromo. As the sun rises above the misty horizon, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Mount Bromo’s active crater, the majestic Mount Semeru (the highest volcano in Java), Mount Batok, and the vast Sea of Sand stretching below. After sunrise, your adventure continues across the Sea of Sand toward the base of Mount Bromo. From there, you can hike or ride a horse up the slope and climb the stairs to the crater rim, where you’ll feel the warmth and energy of the active volcano.
Before heading back, take time to explore Luhur Poten Temple, a sacred Hindu temple nestled in the caldera. You’ll then enjoy a warm, traditional Indonesian breakfast at your hotel before continuing the journey to Bondowoso, with a lunch break along the way.
Day 3: Ijen Blue Fire Hike – Drop Off (Surabaya / Malang / Ketapang Port)
At 11:30 PM, your driver will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Paltuding (trekking point), the starting point of the Ijen Crater trek. Begin your early morning hike to witness the otherworldly Blue Fire phenomenon, a rare natural event visible only in a few places on Earth. After reaching the crater rim, enjoy stunning views of the turquoise acidic lake, active sulfur mining operations, and sunrise over the Ijen Plateau. After the descent, your journey ends with a drop-off in Surabaya, Malang, or Ketapang Port (by request).

We took the 2D1N tour to Mount Bromo from Surabaya.
We were very fortunate to get a good weather in a rainy season. Our guide, Nadal and our driver Tirto were enjoyable, accommodating and helpful. Everything was taken care of from the airport until our drop off in Surabaya. We stayed at lower ground in Bromo, hence less cold but it was all good.
The price is reasonable too. Recommended.

Went on 3d2n program to mt bromo/tumpakwesu waterfall/ijen crater in dec24. We were all in our 60s. Alhan/Yanto were our tour guide/driver. Beautiful place and scenery. Come and experience and see the wonders of nature. It was an adventure with the slow hikes, horse rides up mt bromo(optional), lamborghini rides at mt ijen(optional human porter service).
Program was well organised and hotel accommodations (especially Dream Land hotel) were good. The tour operator and team are experienced and will ensure that you have an enjoyable and pleasant holiday. Recommended and High Five to both the tour agent and the places visited above
